Andrew Gorman, D.O. | Board Certified Neurologist

 

Dr. Andrew Gorman, DO is a Board Certified Neurologist who is fellowship trained in Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology. Dr. Gorman received his fellowship training from Barrow Neurological Institute.

He completed his residency at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, where he was recognized as Chief Resident.  Dr. Gorman completed an internship at St. Joseph's Hospital in Arizona and earned the honor as top Preliminary Internal Medicine intern. He obtained his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in California.

He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona, as well as a post-graduate candidate for a Masters in Public Health. Dr. Gorman provides his expertise and clinical leadership to the Banner Boswell Medical Center Epilepsy Monitoring Program. He is also a former Director of Stroke and Neuro ICU at Banner Boswell. Dr. Gorman evaluates and treats patients with all types of neurological problems and disorders with special interest in Epilepsy and Neuromuscular conditions.

Jason Reinhart, D.O. Board Certified Neurologist

 

​Dr. Reinhart is a general neurologist who treats all neurological conditions.  He is Board Certified in General Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (APBN), a nationally recognized corporation.  When you choose a Board certified physician, you can be confident that (s)he meets the standards of education, knowledge, and experience to provide high quality care.

Dr. Reinhart earned his medical degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine.  He completed his internship at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center and his residency at Barrow Neurological Institute.  He has privileges at Banner Hospitals. 

 

Though educated in neurology, Dr. Reinhart treats the whole person, not just the presenting symptoms.  Dr. Reinhart partners with his patients to determine why they have their symptoms, and then determines a treatment plan.  Factors may include genetics, lifestyle, environment, and other.  That’s why he takes the time to ask questions and truly listen.

Atul Syal, M.D. | Board Certified Neurologist

Dr. Atul Syal is a board certified neurologist with a fellowship training in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology. Dr. Syal did his medical schooling at Government Medical College in Amritsar, India. He completed his neurology residency followed by a fellowship in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology at the University of Cincinnati Medical center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Syal has served on the Board of Directors for the Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona, the American Heart Association (Phoenix Chapter), and the  American Stroke Association (Phoenix Division). One of Dr. Syal's main interests is treating patients with seizure disorders. He also treats patients with several other neurological conditions, such as dementia, neuropathies, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, stroke, headaches, etc. Dr. Syal won the Top Doc award by Phoenix Magazine in 2016. As of April 2017, Dr. Syal received his endorsement for faculty title at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at the College of Medicine – Phoenix.

Daniel Spezzacatena, Psy.D. | Neuropsychologist

Dr. Spezzacatena holds a Doctor of Psychology and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University in Phoenix, Arizona. He earned his Education Specialist in Mental Health Counseling and Master of Arts in Psychological Counseling from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey. Dr. Spezzacatena completed his post-doctoral training/residency in neuropsychology at Arizona Neurological Services in Chandler, Arizona and in neuropsychology, behavioral medicine, and forensic neuropsychology at Desert Vista Neuropsychological Specialists/St. Luke’s Hospital.

Dr. Spezzacatena has primary certification in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT). His research interests include sports concussion, effort, and learned helplessness. He has served as a neuropsychological consultant, conducting pre-season and post-injury concussion assessments along with an Arizona Cardinals physician. He served as an adjunct professor at Midwestern University and Northern Arizona University and has also presented at conferences on the topic of effort/malingering.

Christina Figueroa, Ph.D | Neuropsychologist

 

Dr. Christina Figueroa is a bilingual clinical neuropsychologist who has been with ANA since August 2018. She graduated from the University of Arizona in 2007 with a bachelor’s of science in psychology. She worked at Brown University for three years before completing her master’s degree and a doctorate in clinical psychology at Marquette University in 2016. Dr. Figueroa completed specialized training in neuropsychology, including a one-year internship at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She has been licensed to practice in Arizona since January 2020.

Dr. Figueroa has special interests in medical and psychiatrically complex conditions, including dementia differentials, and in providing services to Spanish-speaking individuals. She is a member of the Phoenix Hispanic Neuropsychology Consultation Group.

Dr. Kameron Sheikh.jpeg

Kameron Sheikh, Ph.D | Neuropsychologist

 

Dr. Kameron Sheikh is the newest clinical neuropsychologist at Arizona Neurology Associates. Dr. Sheikh holds two master's degrees and obtained a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hartford. He completed his neuropsychological internship at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System, followed by a two-year specialized neuropsychology postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Kansas School of Medicine.

He has obtained clinical experience various medical, legal/forensic, and clinical settings, providing comprehensive neuropsychological services to adult and older adult populations for a variety of neurological (e.g., dementia, TBI, stroke), medical, and psychological disorders. Dr. Sheikh’s research endeavors have included collaborative publications with focuses on neuropsychological validity assessment and clinical/professional practices.

With a strong commitment to supervisory and training roles, Dr. Sheikh is dedicated to advancing the field through mentorship and education.
